The best defense is good offense. This workshop will uncover some of the tools and attacks hackers use to break into our computer systems. In order to be a good cyber ninja, you have to know how you may be attacked so you can stop it from happening. We will look at how attacks affect a computer and perform digital forensics on the operating system. The goal of this workshop is to provide insight into how a hacker breaks into a computer to know how to defend against them.

  • Footprinting and Reconnaissance, Open Source Intelligence gathering
  • Introduction to Services, Ports, and Protocols using Wireshark
  • Introduction to Information Security: Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability
  • Introduction to File System: How data is stored, what is kept in memory
  • Basic Forensic: FTK, Sleuth Kit
